How Organic Are You!?!
* everything that touches my child must be organic and Earth friendly
* I use organic products when I can
* organic shmosmanic, so overrated
If you are in the first category, then you should definitely be using the wonderful new snap cloth diapers!
They are size adjustable with a fleecy absorbent inside and come in many great colors…
But here is something for everyone by Dandelion, a proud member of the Organic Trade Association.
At the gift show in NY last week, I got a chance to talk with the company’s owner. She explained how they manufacture
their two main products.
First, is their organic plus toys. Dandelion’s organic plush are made from soft, organic cottons, filled with
natural corn fibers.
Dandelion’s second major product line is their feeding products, which includes utensils, plates,
and bowls. All of these products are made from corn and natural materials, and contain absolutely ZERO
BPA or phthalates. Corn is an annually renewable resource, unlike the oil and natural gas used to manufacture
plastic. Using corn instead of plastics reduces energy use and greenhouse-gas emissions. Corn based products
are also biodegradable, so there is less waste.
Now, if all that isn’t enough, the packaging that their products come in are also made from 100% recycled
materials, are recyclable themselves, and are even printed using vegetable inks.
Trying to live a totally organic lifestyle can be a major commitment for anyone. With manufacturers like
Dandelion, it’s fun and easy to Go Green.
