Here's an early Simply Baby and Kids story. It was early in 1992 when my mother and I were
setting up Simply Baby for the very first time. We had not yet opened our doors for business. Our first
customer was banging on the door, waving her hands, excited about something. She was so happy to see us,
a local store for kids, and she was desperate to buy the potty seat she needed. That was it... Our first sale.
A potty seat! Was it a sign? Were we headed for the toilet before we even got started?!
I can look back now and say no with a thankful sigh. We have made it 18 years now, through good times and bad.
We've met challenges, like blooming of the internet age, big box importing stores, and even our own growing family.
Looking back can be difficult sometimes. You don't want to think about it, analyze your mistakes, or realize how
fortunate things turned out despite yourself. But when I look back, I see my family. My mother, father, grandmother,
brother, sister in law, and inlaws have always been there and been supportive. Of course, I can't forget my husband
and partner, my hardworking rock.
Today, I look back and think about that potty seat and wonder where that child is now. College?! They're probably
around 21 years old by now! Time flies by... and things do change.
Our Simply Baby, now Simply Baby and Kids, is about to enter a new phase. Stay tuned to this blog. We have good and
