If you have visited SBK in the past month, you probably know about all the innovations taking place with Young America
by Stanley Furniture. We are so excited about what they have going on that we can't wait to tell people as soon as
they arrive. Let me tell you about each update separately. . .
First
All of Young America (YA) is now 100% Made in the US!! This is huge for many reasons. For one, when you by American
made products, Americans are put to work. This is exactly what our economy needs, more companies manufacturing products
and creating jobs here, right?! It has a trickle down affect. If a manufacturer is making furniture here then, they
are buying the supplies they need from other American companies. Our small manufacturers, local banks, family owned
grocery stores and retail stores of all kinds are slowly and painfully disappearing under the reign of the big box with
their import is better mentality. Let's also look at all the recent problems we've seen arise from importing products
over the last couple of years like lead paint, mold, poisons and bed bugs!! It is comforting to know that your child's
furniture came from North Carolina where they have complete hands on control over production and quality. Yeah!!
Second
The cribs are GreenGuard Certified with the rest of the styles to follow as they roll out of production over the course
of the next several months. If you are unfamiliar with GreenGuard, please take a moment to read about it on our website
by clicking here. Simply put, GreenGuard is an independent firm that tests the air quality of furniture and other
products to make sure that the air we are breathing is healthy. YA had to make changes in manufacturing and finishing
to meet the standard GreenGuard sets for products to become certified. This is very good news because fresh air is
important in a child's room, a room that is typically small where the door is often kept shut to keep noise down. Please
notice their logo on other certified products on our website. If you sign up for our e-mail newsletter (at the very
bottom of the homepage) we will keep you up-to-date as new products become certified.
Third
The colors and finishes have been expanded and a child's perfect room should be abundant with color. Whatever your
pallet, the sky is the limit and we know just how to make it happen.
Finally
Stanley Furniture is committed to environmental sustainability and product quality. All YA products not only meet but
exceed all mandatory and voluntary government regulated safety standards, branding their own higher standards to assure
safe furniture for children. Planting trees and keeping a small carbon footprint is only part of their environmental
commitment. Their philosophies are interesting reading with a cup of tea.
I just want to add that we do not benefit when our customers buy YA over any other of our beloved brands. They
really are just doing things the way they should be done and deserve credit for it!! I hope many will follow.
